Eucerin DermoPurifyer Cleansing Gel
Cleansing Gel for acne-prone skin
Soap- and fragrance-free, Eucerin DermoPurifyer Cleansing Gel is a non-comedogenic daily face wash for blemish- and acne-prone skin. With 6% Ampho-Tensides, it cleanses skin gently but effectively removing dirt, make-up and any excess sebum. Thanks to its antibacterial properties, the gel eliminates skin bacteria and prevents bacterial growth.
The cleansing gel can be used alongside medical acne treatment and during pregnancy.
Clinical and dermatological studies have confirmed excellent skin tolerability and a mild cleansing effect when used on blemish- and acne-prone skin.
In a self-assessment study a sample of 58 men and women aged between 16 and 43 (average age 24) applied Eucerin DermoPurifyer Adjunctive Soothing Cream twice a day for two weeks. At the time of the study, all respondents had been undergoing medical acne treatment (with topical Benzoyl Peroxide, topical Tretinoin, topical Adapalene or oral Isotretinoin) for at least two weeks.
The patients reported the following results:
- 96%: skin feels comfortable after regular application
- 94%: silky smooth texture
- 93%: reduces feelings of tightness
- 91%: soothes skin under medical acne treatment
- 91%: spreads easily
- 91%: skin feels softer after the first application
- 90%: alleviates side-effects of acne treatment
- 89%: the cream reduces stinging and burning
- non greasy

Will the Cleansing Gel remove my make-up completely?
It is a good idea to remove eye make-up, especially the water-resistant type, with a dedicated make-up remover (e.g. Eucerin DermatoClean Eye make-up remover) before thoroughly cleansing skin with the Cleansing Gel.
Can I use the cleansing gel with an electric cleansing brush?
Yes, of course, but be very careful cleaning your skin in this way if you are undergoing medical acne therapy.
Is acne caused by having dirty skin?
This is a common myth but it’s not true. It is, however, important to choose products that have been specially formulated for blemish- and acne-prone skin – mild but effective cleansing gels are much more suitable than harsh soap-based alternatives.
My skin feels tight after cleansing. Is that normal?
Tightness can be a sign of dry skin. If your skin feels tight be sure to thoroughly moisturise after cleansing. Consider using one of the moisturisers in the Eucerin DermoPurifyer range.
I’ve used Eucerin DermoPurifyer Cleansing Gel in the past. What is the difference between that and Eucerin DermoPurifyer Cleansing Gel?
Nothing. It’s just a new name and new packaging. The formula is proven to be highly effective and needed no changes.
Can I use Eucerin DermoPurifyer Cleansing Gel while I’m undergoing medical acne treatment?
Yes. The Cleansing Gel can be used alongside your acne therapy treatment. If you are concerned, consult your doctor, dermatologist or pharmacist before use.
Is acne genetic?
A genetic predisposition certainly counts. If both parents had acne in their youth there is a greater likelihood that their children will also experience acne.
